 Are You Telling A Story?

Compare these two paragraphs:

A.  The Edge Marketing & Advertising Company is a marketing & advertising consulting firm that specializes in working with small businesses.  Consider us your marketing department.  We offer a wide range of marketing services, from complete marketing plans, message assessments and implementation to hourly advice.  We make your marketing a more predictable, profitable process.

B.  I've always been a student of human persuasion (figuratively as a kid, and literally in college).  Early in my career I also discovered a natural curiosity for how businesses work and how to improve them.  My first clue: when my casual observations over lunch proved more valuable than the ton of expensive IBM equipment I had just sold the same people.  Hmm. . .I thought. . .that's weird!  So I quit IBM, got my MBA and after years in the small business marketing trenches declared myself a marketing consultant.  I've since discovered a precious few guiding principles that produce results.  Principles about how to get attention, how to tell a story and how you treat people while you're persuading them.

Which engaged you?  "B" of course tells a story.  "A" describes my firm in a traditional way.  "B" is uniquely us.  Nobody else can say that.  And while "B" doesn't offer the same kind of specific information as "A," which may not initially makes sense, which one made you more likely to contact me?
